Vitamin D and Health

Michael F. Holick Ph.D., M.D., a leading authority on Vitamin D, describes how important it is for our health and wellbeing (1). It is now clear that low serum levels of Vitamin D are associated with an increased risk of many chronic diseases including certain common cancers, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes, depression, and autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.

It is imperative that we have enough Vitamin D in our bodies as it fulfils a key role in so many important biochemical processes essential for good health.
